CCV 1.5 + 2xPS3 Eye working smoothly on Windows 8.1 !
I struggled all evening to get this working, saw a few posts on the forum but nothing helped. So here is how I finally managed to have it working:
1) Be sure PS3 Eye cameras are not plugged
2) Install CCV 1.5 -> At this stage it should work but NOT with the PS3 Eye cameras
3) Install latest version of CL-Eye-Driver (version 5.3.0.0341 here)
4) Install latest version of CL-Eye-Platform-SDK (version 1.6.4.0028 here)
5) Search on your hard drive for the file CLEyeMulticam.dll
6) Copy it from where the system found it (C:WindowsSysWOW64 in my case) to the main folder where CCV 1.5 is installed and overwrite existing file
7) Plug PS3 Eye cameras
8) Run CCV
9) Smile

Hey gang,
Just looking to see what people know about LCD screens, what models work best as tabletops, commercial vs consumer ,problems- what to look out for, problems you have had, what specs to look for, viewing angles and what not .
I am planning to use an overlay maybe P.Q LABS ?
Any info, opinions, review / links, or how that rate compared to other companies ??

Community Core Vision has stopped working
Hello. Sorry if this covers old ground, I’ve spent all morning looking through the forum and I can’t find (or perhaps recognise) the solution to my problem. I’ve installed 1.5 but when I start the program I get the message ‘Community Core Vision has stopped working’ after about 5 seconds. I’ve attached a picture of the error message and CCV screen. I can’t work out what I need to do to get it going. I’m just starting out with CCV so my knowledge is very limited/non existent. As a graphic designer I’m very used to thinking of things front end but now I’m trying to get under the hood as it were and very keen to learn.

Can’t buy PS 3 eye - alternative needed
Hello,
what cameras can we use these days for IR tracking? I’m starting my project and was very impressed by amount of materials about tweaking / using of PS 3 eye camera for IR tracking. Unfortunately seems like camera is outdated now and we can’t buy dozen of them for our project because they are out of production. So what is alternative can be used?
Can’t find something similar to PS 3 eye - we need:
1. Linux compatibility.
2. 640x480 at 30 fps (at least)
3. Ability to use filter for cut off visible light.

Can´t find what i am doing wrong… Please, help needed!
Hello everyone, The foroum has been of great help till now! I having some trouble:
I am trying to build a FTIR small multitouch screen.
I have an acrylic with polished edges (IMG 1)
IR 850nm led stripe mounted in a aluminium frame. (IMG 2)
I am using Tinkerman method to get te compliant layer. (IMG 3)
The camera sees this (IMG 4).
but nothing happends when touching the surface. I think that the acrylic is nos difussing the IR light, but I´not really shure.
WHAT COULD BE THE REASON??????

Rig not picking fingers or any objects (white washed image on camera)
I recently started to build my DSI table using Endlighten and everything seemed to going well until the CCV calibration step. When I turn my rig on the camera was white washed with light and would not register any blobs from my fingers to my phone sitting on the surface. The other thing that I noticed is most of the tutorials I watched on calibration would have some identifiable picture of your hand in the “Source” image in CCV and I have never seen this.
Things that I have Tried
Verified that its not noise from other lights
To make sure that I wasn’t receiving any noise from other light sources, I ran the setup in pitch black and saw that the same issue occurred.
Verify that the LEDs weren’t too bright
To make sure that the LEDS weren’t to bright I bought a dimmer for the LEDs and ran the configuration on various light intensities. No real difference showed up when I did this.
At this point Im speculating that there is something wrong with the type of camera that I bought or the endlighten, since I cant pick anything up other than LED lights on or off. Any troubleshooting advice or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Simple Question re: capturing raw data from TUIO
Hello!
I’m using CCV to track animal movement for an experiment. I’m trying to write a Java program (in Eclipse) that simply takes the x and y coordinates of the TUIO cursor at a constant interval so that I can recreate the animal’s path and determine how long the animal has spent in specified areas. I’m using .mov files rather than a live feed.
I’ve run into a few problems. On the CCV interface, I can pretty reliably get the cursor to track the animal without much noise/other blobs. However, when implementing the TUIOListener interface, it’s hard to tell why the X/Y coordinates are sampled with the frequency that they are. Sometimes the updateTuioCursor method is called ever 25 milliseconds, and sometimes it takes several seconds (during which the animal is moving) to update.
Is there anyway to just take the x and y coordinates from CCV with a regular interval?

TUIOdroid: sending TUIO Data with Android Phones
Hey,
I developed my first Android Applictation that sends TUIO data via Wifi to a receiver.
You can define your receiver easily by changing IP and Port.
It should work under Android 2.1.
It is in a beta stadium, a really good blob tracking is not implemented yet.

Trend of LED lights
I was searching about cheap led lights and i have found that people are taking interest in replacing their lights to LED lights. I was shocked that why people do so , after making some possible changes i came to know that LED lights are cost effective. For example = 30 watts of light can be replaced with 8 watts of led bulb with the same lighting aspect, dont you think that is amazing.

i am developing a projection based 46” multi touch table using CVV1.5 . I have used 3 PS3 EYE cameras(all activated from code laboratories ). I have used 1.5v LED’s to light up the acrylic.
Used two acrylics both 8mm one for projection(Bottom) and other for IR LEDS(TOP).
Everything is working fine , i see my fingers lit up via cameras while testing.
however the main issue is that the blobs are not clear which makes CVV difficult to identify them as perfect blobs hence no detection, sometimes i have to press very hard to get it detected which is not acceptable in the market.
I need help as i have to take out my product in the market asap.

Brain Computer Interaction using Emotiv EPOC
Hello everyone. I’m Siddharth, an engineering student from BITS Pilani, India.
I have done a few projects on OpenCV before and for the past 6 months I am working on a Government of India sponsored research project on Brain Computer Interaction using Emotiv EPOC (for capturing the brain signals) and OpenViBE.
I am planning to apply for NUI Group as my mentoring organization for GSoC this year. But before starting, I wanted to make sure if the NUI Community accepts project in this field and hence I started this thread. I have checked the list of previous project ideas and selected proposals but none of them involved BCI and hence I asked this question. Could anyone please reply.
